Practice turning a Major Scale into a Minor Scale!.

Directions:
Using the major scale formula, build a C Major scale ascending from C3-C4 using quarter notes. Once the scale is built, locate the third, sixth, and seventh scale degrees (notes in the scale) and make them flat by lowering each one a half step. After doing this in the key of C, repeat the entire process two more times starting on a different note each time to create two new Major/minor scales in different keys.
Step-By-Step:
Open the Soundtrap template linked below.
Open the MIDI region on the Piano Track.
You’ll see pairs of notes that represent the root and fifth of a triad, with an empty space in between.
Your teacher will reveal a target note name of the third.
Determine whether the full triad formed is major or minor.
Raise your hand and say your answer out loud using this structure: “E is a major third above C. This is a C major triad.”
Make sure your new note is also a whole note in length and properly aligned in the chord.
A triad has three notes: the root, the third (which determines if it’s major or minor), and the fifth.
