Step-By-Step

Follow along step by step to complete the exercise at your own pace.

  1. Listen to the chords provided.

  2. Activate the Global Scale.

  3. Enable Fold to Scale and Highlight Scale.

  4. Choose a bass sound and insert a MIDI clip on the Bass track.

  5. Write a bassline that uses the notes from the chords: C-Eb-G for i, G-Bb-D for v, and F-Ab-C for iv.

  6. Choose a melodic sound you like: Guitar & Plucked, Lead, or Mallets.

  7. Highlight both your Chord and Melody clips at the same time to see them together.

  8. Write a melody part that follows the chord progression: i v iv.

  9. Listen back to your full arrangement and make adjustments if needed.

  10. Save your work! Cmd+S (Mac) / Ctrl+S (Windows)
