YPG Founder/Executive Director
Lawrence Grey started Young Producers Group in 2016 with the mission of bringing young people together through their shared love of electronic music like hip hop and EDM, and aligning K-12 music programs with students’ interests and lived experiences. With a Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition from New York University, a Master’s Degree in Education from University of California Los Angeles, and as an Ableton Certified Trainer, Lawrence’s unique position singularly qualifies him to create curricula and lead a team of forward-thinking educators.
He hosts this curriculum and leads the YPG Curriculum Band in explaining key music production concepts. In the studio, he breaks down how to apply these skills in Soundtrap and execute the assignments.
