Interview a Friend

Ask questions, listen closely, and find out something cool about a friend.

Activity

An interview is when you ask someone questions to learn more about them. In this activity, you and a friend take turns being the host and the guest. When you're the host, you ask the questions. When you're the guest, you answer them.

Be a good listener

When you're the host, look at your friend, listen carefully, and don't interrupt. Listening is just as important as asking! If you hear something interesting, say “tell me more.”

How to do it

  1. Find a partner.

  2. Decide who goes first. That person is the host. The other person is the guest.

  3. The host asks three questions and really listens to the answers.

  4. Switch! Now the guest becomes the host.

  5. Share one cool thing you learned about your friend.

Questions you can ask

  • What is your favorite food?

  • What do you like to do after school?

  • If you had a superpower, what would it be?

  • What is your favorite animal?

  • What are you really good at?
