Sampling

Listening Party: Sampling Project

Share your project with the class and give thoughtful feedback on your classmates' work.

For this project, you created music using only samplers, no presets, no synths, just your creativity and the samples you captured or imported. 

You practiced warping and chopping audio to reshape it into something entirely new, using tools like Simpler, Drum Sampler, and Drum Rack.

As you share your project, reflect not just on what you made, but how you made it. What surprised you? What did you discover about sound, or about your own creative process? Consider the following questions as you present your work:

  • What sounds did you choose to sample, and why?

  • How did you transform those sounds into musical elements?

  • What challenges or breakthroughs did you experience working with only samples?
