Artist Statement

As you begin to define your process and practice, take a moment and reflect on who you are as an artist and where you’re trying to go. Your teacher will give you a link to the Artist Statement Questionnaire to help get you started. 

The questionnaire will ask you to do the following:

• Come up with a moniker (if you want to).

• Determine what kind of musician you are (i.e. producer, singer, composer, etc.).

• Reflect on what kind of music you want to make and how you want it to make people feel. 

• Consider your unique perspective.

• Connect your work to the larger culture.

All students will share their artist statements with the class.
