Welcome to the Music Appreciation Trial!

This mini-curriculum helps students understand a fundamental question:

What music do I like and why?

In order to determine what music they like, students need to understand how to really listen and how what they hear fits into a larger cultural framework. This curriculum gives them the tools to decode and describe music. Students write and reflect about music so they have the essential awareness needed to eventually make music of their own.

The trial gives you a glimpse of the videos, glossaries, assignments, discussions, and readings across the curriculum. Anything outside the trial stays visible but locked, so you can see the full scope of what's here.
