  1. How would you describe the timbre of a distorted guitar?

  2. How would you describe the timbre of a clarinet?

  3. Pick a sound from the physical world like rain or a rocketship and describe the way it sounds. Extra points if you can connect it to the physical phenomenon producing the sound.

  4. We know producers can alter their sounds with audio effects and painters can manipulate their colors.

    1. What are some other creative activities that allow people to affect their materials? Please describe.

  5. What are some real-world situations that change the way sound sounds? 

    1. For example, if someone is playing music in the other room or you’re standing outside of a venue, you still hear the music, but usually only the low frequencies.
