You completed the Advanced Music Technology & Business Capstone Curriculum!  

You created a Capstone Project, learned the ins and outs of the music industry, and have a plan in place to get started building your career. 

While everyone’s professional path is unique, our interviewees identified overlaps between the people that find success:

• The music industry is built on relationships. Your ability to form and maintain relationships is even more important than your musical skills. 

• Being good at your role in the studio is a given. Your sensitivity and social fluency is what’s going to make a session successful and get you invited back to the next one.

• Ego only gets in the way. Each person is a link in the creative chain and must build on the people before them and set up those that come after.

  • At the same time, you have to believe in yourself with all of your heart and know (even without proof) that you can do it.

• You have to put yourself out there. Rejection is tough, but it’s the only way.

• You have to love music and the business to build a sustainable career.
