Objective: Make music collaboratively, picking up where the last producer left off.
Break up the class into even groups of between 4 and 6 students. Start a 5 minute timer. Each student is at their computer and makes music until the timer is up. From there, students unplug their headphones and rotate to the student’s station on their right. Start the 5 minute timer again and students pick up where the last student left off. This process continues until the students are back at their original computers.
Students should avoid deleting material and make an effort to build on what has come before them. If a song is leaning into a specific style, they should keep pulling that thread even if it is different from the styles in which they normally work.
