Four on the floor kick drum. Syncopated snares.
The Reggaeton pattern pictured above shows a kick drum on the 1, but no snare on the 2 and 4. Instead, the snares hit one 1/16th note early. Even though this breaks with the foundation, it still serves the same purpose, providing a rhythmic anchor for the song in the mid range.
