Session View vs. Arrangement View
Learn the key differences between Ableton Live's two main views.

Session View: Layout
Session View does not have a timeline. You move the music along from part to part, triggering the events by launching clips. This flexibility makes Ableton Live such a valuable tool for live performance. Tracks are vertical columns.

Arrangement View: Layout
Arrangement View is the traditional way to use a DAW. You put all your clips in a specific order and press play. You hear the song as the playhead moves. Tracks go from left to right. Exporting audio is only possible from the Arrangement view.
