Exercise 3: Editing Arrangements

Follow along step by step to complete the exercise at your own pace.

  1. Open the Live Set you saved from the previous exercise.

  2. Listen through to your project and identify any sections where you can delete a clip to enhance a transition.

  3. You can also right-click on a clip, select Split to cut it, and then delete the piece you don't want.

  4. Now, try copying and pasting a single clip or multiple clips by pressing Cmd+C and Cmd+V (Mac) / Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V (Windows).

  5. Select a time range on the timeline and use Delete Time by pressing Shift+Cmd+Delete (Mac) / Shift+Ctrl+Delete (Windows) to remove a section.

  6. Select a time range on the timeline and use Duplicate Time by pressing Shift+Cmd+D (Mac) / Shift+Ctrl+D (Windows) to repeat that section.

  7. Keep using these editing tools to build and improve your arrangement.

  8. Save your work! Cmd+S (Mac) / Ctrl+S (Windows)
